Carly Pearce Says CMA Nods Make This Year ‘Extra Special’

Carly Pearce helped announce the nominees at this year's CMA Awards yesterday (Tuesday, Sept. 1st) during ABC's Good Morning America and she heard her own named called four times. She's vying for New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (“I Hope You’re Happy Now”), Musical Event of the Year (“I Hope You’re Happy Now”), and Music Video of the Year (“I Hope You’re Happy Now”).

Carly tells us these nominations are very validating while at the same time almost more than she can comprehend. ["I mean, it's crazy, and I feel like every facet of my artistry being recognized this year from being a collaborator with Lee (Brice) to being an artist with New Artist, to the visual piece and then for songwriter. It's just . . . I don't know. I really don't know how to even put it into words. This one's gonna take a second to understand what just happened because all I've ever wanted to do is what I'm doing, and I've watched the CMAs every year for my entire life, and this year is extra special."] SOUNDCUE (:32 OC: . . . is extra special.)

The CMA Awards will be held in Nashville on Nov. 11th and will air live on ABC.
