Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs React To ACM Nominations

The ACM Awards nominees were announced on Friday (Feb. 26th), and several artists either issued statements or reacted on social media. Following are some of their comments:

Lead nominee (with six nods) Chris Stapleton wrote on Instagram, “Thanks for all the love. I’m honored to be included & thrilled to see so many close friends and collaborators being recognized for their talents.”

Luke Combs posted on Instagram, “Wow! Entertainer, Male Artist and Music Event of the Year… Completed humbled and honored by these nominations, @acmawards! To the best fans in the world: these nominations are OUR nominations. This, or anything else for that matter, does NOT happen with out you all, so thank you!”

Ashley McBryde said of her Album of the Year nod for Never Will, “I am honored to have been nominated alongside so many peers I respect and admire, and I can’t thank the Academy of Country Music enough for recognizing the incredible work not only my band, Jay Joyce and myself put into this record, but the songwriters and my team. I look forward to the day we can celebrate this album together, along with our fans.” She was also nominated for Female and Song of the Year.

Ingrid Andress earned three nominations, including New Female Artist of the Year and Single of the Year (“More Hearts Than Mine”) with an additional nomination as producer. She said, “I am shooketh. To be recognized by my peers and nominated alongside them is such an honor. Thank you so much to everyone who voted.”

Gabby Barrett earned two nominations, including New Female Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for “I Hope. She said, “WOW – what an honor to be nominated for two ACMs. I grew up watching these awards with my family every year, so to be nominated and included in this tradition – and to have “I Hope” up for Single of the Year – means more to me than you’ll ever know. Thank you to my amazing husband and family, my team, my label, country radio, and the most loyal fan base for making this happen. I am so proud to be a part of this new generation making country music right now and so excited to see what’s next.”

Blake Shelton received a nod for Music Event for “Nobody But You.” He wrote, “What a way to start the day!!! Thanks y’all! Honored to be nominated at this year’s @acmawards with the one and only @gwenstefani . . . “

Carly Pearce commented on her three nods writing, “My mom and I were waiting for the @acmawards nominations announcement this morning and then I got THE call from @scottborchetta….he tells me I have not one but THREE and one of those is FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR!! I truly have no words. Thank you thank you thank you, gonna go cry all day”

Luke Bryan wrote, “Wow, what a way to start my weekend! My team and I are so excited to be nominated for 2 @acmawards. 2020 was a tricky year but I really couldn’t do it without all my fans out there supporting me. Thank you so much. Is it too early for #OneMargarita? Ha love y’all.”

Brothers Osborne wrote, “Duo and ALBUM!!! Beyond honored to have these @ACMawards nominations. We poured our hearts and souls into Skeletons. Beyond appreciative to receive the love for this record. Love y’all.”

Keith Urban earned a couple of Music Event nominations. He wrote, “Do I love collaborating or what?!!!! Huge thx to @thomasrhettakins for asking me to be a part of Be A Light and a massive thx to @pink for duetting with me on One Too Many !!! Surreal!!!!!!! . . .”

Mickey Guyton got her first nod for New Female Artist. She wrote, “Look at God! He is showing up and showing out! With opportunity comes possibility. Thank you for never giving up on me.”

Tenille Arts also got her first ACM nod for New Female Artist, writing, “I truly can’t find a single morsel of chill. Neither can my hands or legs. Seriously…. being nominated for my first ACM Award is beyond a dream come true. To be nominated alongside my friends & artists I admire so much is even better . . .”

The winners will be announced on April 18th on CBS.
