Maren Morris Deletes Photos Of Son After Being Mom-Shamed On Social Media

Maren Morris is taking a break from posting pictures of her infant son, Hayes. In fact, she went back and deleted the ones previously posted on her social media accounts because of mom-shamers who went after her when she shared a photo of herself holding Hayes while sitting in a large, inflatable raft on a lake and neither was wearing life jackets. Maren tweeted, “Honestly, I get so many criticisms of my motherhood on anything I post of Hayes, so I may just discontinue posting photos of him. Sucks but it's kind of where I'm at . . . I mean, we talked about curbing posting photos anyway now that he's a little bit older, but the added crap from (mostly other moms) folks definitely forced our hand.”

Maren's husband, Ryan Hurd, also came to her defense writing, “I'd like to say, my wife usually doesn't need me to defend her, but she's a great mom, and my kid was not unsafe on a float in 1 feet of water being held by an adult with 5 people watching so she could get a picture.” He assured shamers that Hayes actually has two “coast guard approved” life jackets.

Maren's photo that started the controversy remains on her Instagram page.
