Mickey Guyton and her husband, Grant Savoy, will welcome a son in February. Mickey shared the details with People magazine saying, "This baby is an absolute miracle." Mickey announced the news of her pregnancy in August.
The couple is preparing their downtown Los Angeles home for the new addition, and are currently in the process of decorating the nursery.
Mickey, one of the few Black artists in Country music, told People, "I pray for him," while addressing her child's future due to his skin color. She added, "I've seen racial injustice happen to my husband. I've had a 'Karen' falsely make claims against him and say some of the most heinous things, like the N-word. I'm growing this Black child in my belly that is going to have to face this."
Mickey's new single is called "Heaven Down Here." She is set to perform the song on next week's CMT Music Awards.
