Tim McGraw Brought His Mom To Tears With Latest Hit

Tim McGraw's latest hit, "I Called Mama," instantly brought his own mother to tears the first time she heard it. Tim tells us: ["I sent it to her and I said, 'We're gonna release this single. It's gonna come out Mother's Day weekend,' and then she sent me crying emojis. I knew better than to call her cause I knew what she was doing. I knew she wouldn't be able to talk at the time cause I know my mom pretty well and I knew exactly what she meant when she sent those emojis. That's why she didn't call."] SOUNDCUE (:14 OC: . . . she didn't call.)

"I Called Mama" is flying up the charts, already sitting in the Top 25 at country radio.

Earlier this week, Tim shared a message about racial equality on social media in the wake of the death of Minneapolis man George Floyd at the hands of a police officer. He wrote, in part, "Our collective heart should break with every injustice brought to light. Our collective voices should be heard for each and every injustice brought to light, for there are many in the darkness. We must find a way to shine light on what is happening . . ."
